Junior Digital Production Designer
We are looking to expand our Design team and are seeking a Junior Digital Production Designer to create daily editorial products and graphics across multiple platforms, expanding the ANZ Bloodstock and Bloodstock Media product scope.
ANZ Bloodstock News is published seven days a week, with content sourced from a wide range of international contributors. The successful candidate will need to work a flexible shift pattern, regularly covering weekends. Standard working hours are 10 am - 6 pm, five days a week. Given that our commercial clients span various time zones (from the USA to NZ), attention to detail and timely responses are essential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Create and produce visually appealing digital layouts for articles, blogs, newsletters, and other editorial content to enhance the reading experience.
- Produce high-quality layouts and graphical illustrations for various business purposes.
- Develop engaging digital designs for websites, mobile apps, social media, email campaigns, and other digital platforms.
- Create motion graphics and adverts for the company’s websites and interact directly with Bloodstock Media clients for advert creation.
- Develop and maintain templates for different types of editorial content to ensure consistency and efficiency.
- Prepare and export digital assets according to the specific requirements of various online platforms to ensure optimal performance.
- Incorporate feedback from editors, senior designers, and stakeholders to refine and improve digital content.
- Conduct thorough quality checks on all digital materials to ensure accuracy, consistency, and high standards.
- Work closely with editors, writers, and the marketing team to produce cohesive and innovative digital content.
- React quickly to changing environments and think on your feet.
- Demonstrate a strong knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, including Photoshop, Illustrator, and After Effects.
- Work across numerous brand styles and adhere to brand guidelines.
- Source, edit, and optimise images for digital content, ensuring they meet quality standards and are properly formatted for web use.
Who You Are:
- Basic understanding of HTML, CSS, and web design principles.
- Proficiency in motion graphics and animation tools such as After Effects.
- Familiarity with app build and design.
- Understanding of how design impacts search engine optimisation.
- Experience in a publishing environment is beneficial but not essential.
- Background in Graphic Design, Digital Media, Visual Arts, Journalism, or a related field.
- Some experience in digital production design, preferably within an editorial or publishing environment.
- Experience using design software such as Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign), Sketch, Figma, and other relevant tools.
